FASHION WEEK!
The new trend for Spring 2012 is to show your midriff. “Dolce & GAbbana channeled Sophia Loren, and Emilio Pucci’s Dundas conjured a latter-day Brigitte Bardot” (Style.com)
But you don’t have to buy those fancy smancy clothes you see on the runway because the only people who can actually FIT in those clothes are the models. ANYWHO…
***What you could do to get this look take an old t-shirt (doesn’t matter what kind or color) and cut it. Just cut the bottom half of it into what ever design you want to.
Now you have a runway style and you didn’t have to pay a whole lot of money~!

ELENA’S STYLE: I would generally describe my style as a mix of everything ,I believe that my style is still developing but you could probably find me most of the time wearing denim shorts and tights.

INSPIRATION: Beautiful photos which is why I probably spend most of my time on tumblr/other fashion websites and reading magazines , strong, successful people and good music.

STYLE ICON: I would say that someone like Erin Wasson is one of my style icons, I love the way she mixes hobo and rocker with a slight classic edge and how she always looks so effortless yet amazing.

WHAT ASPECT OF FASHION APPEALS TO YOU THE MOST? I would say that the photography and design aspects appeal to me the most I love how someone can express themselves and create their own image through what they wear.

FAVORITE WINTERTIME ACTIVITY: I love going out in the snow all nice and warm and walking through crunchy snow also having a good snowball fight!

STAPLE ITEMS FOR WINTER: A large chunky knit snood I have literally used mine so much that its starting to fall apart so I would consider it a staple for winter (unless you live somewhere where the sun shines)

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS: My new years resolutions are to: post more looks (on lookbook.nu ) ,wear my hats more often, get to sleep earlier, exercise more , work harder and get organized.

Hair Chalking

A new thing hot right now is hair chalking!
You’ll need: Soft pastel chalk.A small spray bottle filled with water
A flat iron or curling iron
Rubber gloves
A old towel or t-shirt you don’t mind getting color on.

Step 1:
Spray a 1-inch section of your hair with water. You don’t need to soak the entire strand, just go as high up as you want the color to be.

Step 2:
Color on you hair with one of the pastels. I recommend choosing about three colors, and putting one at a time in your hair. Start with the lightest shade first, since the color gets all over your gloves and you’ll end up with a muddied version of the same hue throughout if you go dark to light.

Step 3:
Wait for your hair to air dry :) U

Step 4:
Using the curling or flat iron, go over each strand. This sets the colors in your hair, so it will last longer. Then brush and style however you normally would!

The color stayed in my friends hair (which is naturally medium blonde) for about a week, while my other friend’s (who bleaches her hair) washed out the next day. the best part about this technique is that it works for girls with darker hair too, although the color is much more subtle.

I was looking through the Forever 21 website and I found this really cute dress. Since its winter you can always but a cute sweater jacket on top of the dress.

If you’re in school, you can just wear this outfit without a jacket (if you want).

You take away the tights, the knit beret and add some sandals instead of the ankle boots—you have a complete spring/summer look.

This is very inexpensive too!

Dress: Forever 21- $19.80

Ankle Boots: Macy’s- $74.50 (Steve Madden)

Knit Beret: Sears- $5.99

You can make it your own with some statement jewelry too!

Enjoy!
